Scalextric Chip fitting for most non-Hornby cars

 £21.95 Use this item if you are sending us a Ninco, Fly, etc. car for chipping, or if you want one of these non-Hornby brands chipped when buying new from us. These usually take a little longer to do as they need LED holes made in the undertray and a means of locating and securing the chip identified. Note that most Slot-It, SCX and Carrera cars will fall in to the "tricky" category because of the wiring and electrical configuration inside many of them. If you send a car we've not encountered before and it turns out to be a "tricky" one, we'll contact you and let you know before proceeding.

Also some other brands of car have motors that are too powerful for the SSD chip. If you have a maximum 18K to 20K motor you can put in the car before sending, that would get around this problem. If the car's motor turns out to be too powerful and we can't source a less powerful replacement for you, we'll return the car unchipped and obviously return any payment made in respect of it.

Price includes the cost of the chip and return standard delivery (overseas/special delivery options available at checkout) and testing of the chip installation including operation of lanechanger before despatch.

Please note that you may find the need to tweak the installation of the chips in some non-Hornby cars once you have had the chance to run them on your layout, especially those where siting of the LED or chip has been difficult - please be prepared to open up a car and re-seat the chip, some wires, or relocate the LED sensor, if you want to try and improve performance, weight distribution etc. Although we test chipped cars here they may handle differently on your configuration of layout.
